Neighbourhood Watch

Your Neighbourhood Watch
The Offords have an active Neighbourhood Watch, but is always looking out for supporters and new street co-ordinators. To find out whether your street is covered, and for more detail, please contact our Chief Coordinator Graham Mewett on 01480 812317.
Our scheme covers every street in The Offords. Our Chief Coordinator is supported by street cordinators, each with their own manageable patch. There is a Committee which meets 4 times a year and is open to all. Like all schemes ours keeps in close touch with local police to share information and advice. At times we are quite critical of the police support given locally, and with your support we will try and improve things.
More About Neighbourhood Watch
Everyone knows that the police are there to fight crime, but they need your help to do an effective job. Neighbourhood Watch is all about an active partnership with the police. Neighbourhood Watch schemes can:
·
cut crime and the opportunities for crime
·
help and reassure those who live in the area
·
encourage neighbourliness and closer communities.
There are other benefits to Neighbourhood Watch schemes. You will become familiar with crime prevention ideas which will help keep your home and belongings safe. And the extra security which belonging to a Neighbourhood Watch scheme offers might even mean that you can get a premium discount from your insurance company.
